Ripley Hollister, MD, board member of the Physicians Foundation, is a family medicine specialist and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He has practiced as a primary care physician for over 25 years in various settings, including rural, urban, small group, large multi-specialty group and solo. He currently operates his own private practice, Hollister Healthcare Team, in Colorado Springs, CO, and serves as an attending physician at two local hospitals: Penrose-St. Francis Health Services and Memorial Health System.
Dr. Hollister has deep expertise on a number of health and medical issues, including health information technology, medical reimbursement, private practice, small practice, and the social and economic factors contributing to consolidation trends. He serves the Physician Foundation board as a real time resource regarding current trends in primary care, private and small practice.
Dr. Hollister has held leadership positions at numerous medical societies and organizations throughout his career. He currently serves as vice president for Quality Healthcare Alliance IPA and has served for over a decade on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Colorado Medical Society, as well as on the Board of Directors of the El Paso County Medical Society. Dr. Hollister also served as president of the El Paso County Medical Society in 2001 and 2002.
Dr. Hollister received his medical degree from the University of Southern California.
